Financial Assistant

We are thrilled to present an opportunity for a Financial Assistant to become part of our dynamic team of Management Accountants within our Commercial Finance division.

The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the accurate reporting of Contract Vehicles Limited (CVL) performance, ensuring that all relevant balance sheet accounts are reconciled, comprehended, and free from aged reconciling items.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with various Finance teams to guarantee the timely production and analysis of multiple P&L lines, including Fees, terminations, and other revenue streams, ensuring accuracy and understanding of variances against budget.
  • Manage specific balance sheet reconciliations pertinent to the division, serving as audit evidence, with balances clarified and aged. Work closely with functional teams to grasp processes, resolve reconciling items on balance sheet reconciliations, and ensure prompt escalation of issues to relevant business parties.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, contributing any assumptions, issues, and/or opportunities to minimize unnecessary variances.
  • Ensure compliance with all accounting policies and practices, providing clear and straightforward evidence to all interested third parties.
  • Proactively assess current procedures and implement enhancements.
  • Undertake additional ad hoc tasks as needed to cover for absences in other business areas.
  • Prioritize all activities effectively to meet required deadlines.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong technical, analytical, and reporting capabilities.
  • Methodical, organized, and detail-oriented with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Experience in organizing, reconciling, and analyzing substantial data volumes.
  • Aspiration to pursue a professional accounting qualification (CIMA/ACCA).
  • Proficient IT skills, with in-depth knowledge of key Microsoft applications, particularly Excel (including lookups, pivot tables, and formulas).
  • Excellent numerical and verbal communication skills, capable of articulating financial commentary to both Finance and Non-Finance colleagues.
  • Experience in vehicle leasing or financial services is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with working in a deadline-driven financial reporting environment.
  • Ability to maintain composure under pressure while effectively prioritizing tasks.
