About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Assistant General Manager to join our team at Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with the operational management of our inpatient therapy services, working closely with the clinical leads and administrative team to drive improvement and standardise practice.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Assist with the day-to-day management of defined clinical areas and activities, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care.
  2. Work in partnership with the team to drive improvement, embed change, and standardise practice based on local requirements, national guidelines, and clinical best practice.
  3. Provide support in a complex and rapidly changing service, ensuring best practice is met and that data quality and validation is delivered according to agreed timescales.
  4. Develop business proposals and assist the Service Lead in the implementation of business plans, operational strategies, and delivery of Trust objectives.
Requirements
  1. Proven experience in operational management, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  2. Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to command respect and create a sense of community within a team.
  3. Ability to analyse performance data to identify areas for improvement and implement changes to drive service improvement.
  4. Proficient in the use of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and other project management software to enable production of high-quality reports for the Divisional and Trust Boards.
  5. GCSE English and Maths to C grade or higher.
