Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Early Years Bank Staff to join our team at Bright Horizons. As a Key Person, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality care and education to our young children, while ensuring their safety and well-being.

Key Responsibilities
  • Child Development and Education: Deliver the highest standards of care and education, ensuring secure knowledge and understanding of policies and procedures, child development, and regulatory standards.
  • Safeguarding and Child Protection: Ensure internal policies and procedures, and legislation from governing bodies, are adhered to, and demonstrate your knowledge through high standards of practice.
  • Curriculum Implementation: In line with Bright Horizons UK standards for pedagogy, deliver and support the Bright Beginnings, Bright Horizons curriculum to ensure a child-centered approach to operating all aspects of the nursery.
  • Communication and Partnership: Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication with all stakeholders of the nursery and wider Bright Horizons community, including parents, professionals, and colleagues.
  • Teamwork and Collaboration: Work as part of the team to ensure all essential day-to-day tasks are completed in line with the demands of the area you are working within, including hygiene standards and room preparation.
Requirements
  • Essential Experience: Proven ability to work as part of a team to ensure essential day-to-day tasks are completed in line with nursery demands, sound understanding of child protection and safeguarding children, and passion for ongoing learning and personal development.
  • Desirable Experience: Experience as a Key Person, current 12-hour pediatric First Aid Certificate, knowledge of the early years curriculum and regulatory requirements, experience of food preparation and completion of relevant training linked to food management, work experience within the Early Years Sector, and knowledge of Local Authority and Regulatory requirements and inspection processes across the UK.
Qualifications
  • Level 1 Childcare Qualification: Desirable
  • 12-Hour Pediatric First Aid: Can be completed as part of induction
  • Food Hygiene or Equivalent Training: Can be completed as part of induction
  • Safeguarding/Child Protection Training: Relevant training undertaken and a willingness to update training regularly

  • Communication Skills: Able to communicate clearly with adults and children using a variety of techniques (oral and in writing)
  • Leadership and Motivation: Ability to support and inspire children in achieving the highest standards of care and education
  • Time Management and Organization: Able to manage workload and manage time effectively
  • ICT Skills: Able and competent user of company ICT systems and have the willingness to learn and develop ICT skills
  • Teamwork and Collaboration: Enjoyment of working with a wide group of colleagues and professionals
