Job Title: Senior Placement Officer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Placement Officer to join our team at Hays Social Care. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in managing, processing, and updating internal systems, making payments to Foster/Kinship Carers, and updating/set up Children/Young people's placements and CLA notifications.

About the Role:
  • Manage and process internal systems, ensuring accurate and timely updates.
  • Make payments to Foster/Kinship Carers, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Update and set up Children/Young people's placements, ensuring the best possible outcomes.
  • Process CLA notifications, ensuring timely and accurate communication.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with Social Workers, Supervising Social Workers, and Foster carers to identify and coordinate foster placements for children and young people.
  • Take a lead role in the day-to-day matching of in-house foster placement vacancies.
  • Identify and co-ordinate foster placements for children and young people who need to be looked after by the Local Authority.
Requirements:
  • Education to degree level and previous experience within children social care and fostering services.
  • Knowledge of the issues affecting Children Looked After (CLA) and the challenges facing them within the social care system.
  • Awareness of the expectations and challenges that foster carers face in providing care for vulnerable children, along with knowledge of relevant fostering legislation and regulations.
