Job Title: Quality Improvement Specialist

Essex County Council is seeking a highly skilled Quality Improvement Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our quality improvement team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality adult social care services across Essex.

About the Role

This is a fixed-term contract opportunity until 31st May 2025. You will be responsible for working collaboratively with partners and stakeholders to identify and address quality improvement opportunities, ensuring that our adult social care services meet the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and produce high-quality reports to inform quality improvement initiatives.
  • Provide expert consultancy services to adult social care providers, helping them to improve the quality of their services and enhance customer outcomes.
  • Work closely with our social care market to develop innovative approaches to service delivery, ensuring that our residents receive the best possible care.
  • Identify and challenge care delivery that falls below standards, providing support to improve the quality of service provision.
  • Provide expert advice and support to providers during periods of safeguarding activity.
  • Produce reports on expected standards of delivery across Essex, informing and supporting our safeguarding responsibilities and duty of care.
  • Ensure that adult social care providers are compliant with all external regulation and contractual requirements, achieving required standards and addressing any issues in a timely and effective manner.
  • Utilise opportunities to identify best practice, learn lessons from others, and build professional knowledge and expertise to maximise the value of relevant networks and influence service improvements.
  • Ensure the successful delivery of day-to-day activities and develop skills within the quality function.
  • Identify patterns and trends in care delivery and share intelligence with our People Commissioning team to inform future thinking and commissioning intent.
Requirements
  • Education to A Level equivalent or equivalent experience with evidence of continuing professional development.
  • Experience within a social care setting, with evidence of ensuring quality of outputs in delivering services.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to develop a rapport and engage with diverse groups of individuals, along with the ability to develop good business relationships and influence others in presenting compelling arguments for change or improvement.
  • Evidence of a good understanding of quality standards, analysis, organisational development, and demonstrable practical application of these.
