About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Design Engineer to join our Wing Plant Engineering Team (PET). As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for supporting the Wing Component Delivery Teams (CDTs) and providing engineering support to the Broughton Plant and its Supply Chain.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in design engineering and a proven track record of delivering high-quality solutions. You will be responsible for leading design investigations, formulating technical solutions, and ensuring that all design, airworthiness, and safety requirements are met.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Lead design investigations and formulate technical solutions for manufacturing non-conformances and design investigations.
  2. Operate as a lead design engineer and hold design approval signatory for manufacturing non-conformances (T200).
  3. Act as a focal point for technical issues and governance, and provide guidance on technical mentoring for engineering team members.
  4. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase team efficiency through methods, process, and other improvements.
  5. Report critical technical issues to functional managers and delivery managers.
  6. Develop stakeholder relationships in the wider network to engineering.
  7. Motivate and self-drive with the ability to work autonomously when required, while being a strong team player.
  8. Deliver reliably on time, cost, and quality while embracing change and challenge when appropriate.
  9. Anticipate risks and opportunities, and manage them appropriately.
  10. Understand and synthesise multiple complex activities, simplify and communicate them clearly to all stakeholders.
  11. Work in an open and trusting environment.
  12. Understand, nurture, and demonstrate resilience.

Requirements

  • Currently holds Concession Design Approval (T200) or held it in the past.
