Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Health and Safety Manager to join our team at ZipRecruiter. As a key member of our compliance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the health and safety of our employees, customers, and contractors.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and Implement Health and Safety Plans: Create and execute comprehensive health and safety plans to ensure compliance with internal and external regulations.
  2. Conduct Risk Assessments: Identify and assess potential hazards in the workplace, and develop strategies to mitigate risks.
  3. Manage Third-Party Providers: Oversee the performance of third-party health and safety providers, ensuring they meet our standards and procedures.
  4. Train and Educate Employees: Provide training and presentations on health and safety matters, accident prevention, and emergency procedures.
  5. Investigate Incidents: Conduct thorough investigations into accidents and incidents, identifying root causes and recommending solutions.
  6. Develop and Enforce Policies: Create and implement policies to promote a culture of health and safety, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  7. Collaborate with the Compliance Team: Work closely with the compliance team to develop and implement health and safety strategies, and ensure alignment with company goals.
Requirements
  1. Proven Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience in a health and safety role, preferably in a logistics or transportation industry.
  2. Qualifications: A NEBOSH certificate in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent, and an internal auditing qualification (e.g., ISO45001).
  3. Knowledge and Skills: In-depth knowledge of UK H&S legislation, data analysis, and risk assessment, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
