Position Overview:

Regulatory Affairs Manager at Smart DCC

Location: London

Key Responsibilities:

The Regulatory Affairs team is tasked with overseeing interactions with DCC's regulatory partners, including Ofgem, DESNZ, Ofcom, and DSIT, while contributing to the development of DCC's regulatory framework.

This position encompasses the following essential duties:


• Facilitate DCC's participation in governance groups related to the Smart Meter Implementation Programme, aiding in decision-making processes such as planning, risk management, and change control.


• Collaborate with DCC Subject Matter Experts to effectively engage and influence regulatory partners, aligning with DCC's broader business objectives and growth targets.


• Develop a comprehensive understanding of DCC's regulatory partners and key individuals to enhance DCC's influence in critical areas.


• Organize and strategize key stakeholder engagement initiatives.


• Keep DCC's senior leadership informed about significant stakeholder matters and identify emerging trends, providing briefings for senior meetings.

Daily Activities:

· Manage relationships with Government entities and Regulators, influencing regulatory decision-making alongside internal stakeholders.


• Foster strong collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure DCC's perspectives are communicated effectively and persuasively.


• Establish methods for sharing information to promote stakeholder intelligence pooling within DCC and ensure consistent messaging.


• Conduct horizon scanning and collaborate with Government, Regulators, and clients to identify their priorities for system enhancements and new policy implementations, providing briefings for the Board and Executive Committee on potential impacts for DCC.


• Identify and report significant issues arising from DCC's interactions with Regulators, including within the Strategy and Regulation function, to relevant senior management.

Qualifications:


• A degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.


• Demonstrated success in building relationships and collaborating across various organizations.


• Strong facilitation and organizational skills, with experience engaging a diverse range of internal and external representatives, including senior executives.


• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.


• Capacity to prioritize effectively amidst competing demands.


• Proven experience in assisting subject matter experts in communicating complex issues clearly and concisely.


• Background in navigating complex environments with multiple stakeholders and collaborating with cross-functional teams.


• Experience in major government projects is desirable.
