Our three golf courses, including The Brabazon, are renowned for their exceptional quality and design. We take pride in maintaining the highest standards of golf course maintenance, ensuring that our courses are always in top condition for our guests.
Job Summary
We are seeking a Senior Greenkeeper to join our team, responsible for overseeing the daily maintenance of our golf courses. This role involves assisting the Deputy Head Greenkeeper in setting up the courses, supervising staff, and ensuring that all maintenance tasks are completed to the highest standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the golf course set-up each morning, ensuring that all areas of the course are prepared for play.
- Apply fertilizers and chemicals to the golf course as necessary, maintaining the health and appearance of the turf.
- Conduct regular inspections of the golf course, identifying areas that require attention and implementing corrective measures.
- Supervise the golf course maintenance teams, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
- Assist in the planning and implementation of golf course maintenance programs, including cutting schedules, bunker maintenance, and hole changing.
- Perform other duties as required, including mowing greens, fairways, and tees, and assisting with special projects.
Requirements
- NVQ level 2 (or equivalent) qualifications in a relevant field.
- Relevant machinery training and experience.
- Knowledge of Integrated Pest Management (IPM) and turf care practices.
- Proven experience in a supervisory role, with a strong track record of leadership and team management.
- Chemical biology and fertilizer knowledge, with the ability to apply this knowledge in a practical setting.
- A valid driver's license.
