Job Title: Sous Chef

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our kitchen team at MDR Limited. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for assisting the Head Chef in the day-to-day operations of the kitchen, ensuring the highest standards of quality and presentation in all dishes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Head Chef in menu planning, food preparation, and cooking.
  • Coordinate daily tasks with the Head Chef and ensure that all kitchen staff are aware of their duties and responsibilities.
  • Ensure that all food is prepared in accordance with recipe, food hygiene, and allergen control requirements.
  • Supervise and train junior and commis chefs, ensuring they are fully trained and understand their duties.
  • Manage stock rotation and control within the kitchen.
  • Ensure compliance with all food regulation standards and HACCP guidelines.
  • Prioritize tasks and demonstrate effective time management.
  • Work as part of a team, demonstrating good communication and organizational skills.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef in a similar environment.
  • Excellent culinary skills and knowledge of food preparation and presentation.
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Good communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.
