About the Role

As a Senior Health Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing care, rehabilitation, and end-of-life care to patients following an acute illness or treatment. You will work under the indirect supervision of a registered nurse or practitioner, ensuring the safety and quality of care given to your designated patients.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Work clinically to ensure the safety and quality of care given to patients, under the indirect supervision of a registered nurse or practitioner.
  2. Perform cannulation and venepuncture, take and interpret vital signs on adults, and make appropriate referrals to Adult and Child Safeguarding teams.
  3. Support and work with colleagues during shifts, liaise with the wider multidisciplinary team to maintain safety, and help facilitate the development of the service as part of the wider team.
  4. Participate in discussions and projects that benefit the team, patients, and the unit as a whole, working under guidance and in conjunction with the senior nursing team and the Matron.
  5. Follow the Trust's policies and protocols to ensure the safety of the department.
