Job Title: Children's Support Worker

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as a Children's Support Worker in a BRAND NEW children's residential service in Chudleigh Knighton, Newton Abbot.

As a Children's Support Worker, you will be responsible for supporting young people between the ages of 8-18 years old with learning/physical disabilities, complex health needs, autism and challenging behaviours.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the safety and well-being of the children
  • Keep the homely, friendly culture and environment of the homes
  • Manage household duties
  • Deal with challenging behaviours when needed
  • Support the children and young people in the home and promote their independence and well-being
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the individual's care plan, guidelines, reward system and preferred method of communication
  • Support with personal care and medication
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with the staff, parents, Social Workers and other professionals involved in the young people's lives

Requirements:

  • Experience as a Children's Support Worker or within a similar social care setting or with Young People is desirable but not essential
  • Level 3 NVQ in Children & Young People desirable but not essential
  • Hold a Full UK Manual Driving Licence, due to the nature of the role you may be required to transport the young people
