**Job Summary:**We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at Teaching Personnel. As a dedicated SEN Support Assistant, you will provide tailored support to a child with complex needs, helping them to achieve their full potential in a nurturing and inclusive environment.
**Key Responsibilities:**- Provide 1:1 support to a child with complex needs, adapting learning activities and resources to meet their individual requirements.
- Implement personalised strategies and interventions, following guidance from the class teacher, SENCO, and external specialists.
- Foster a positive and engaging learning environment, promoting the child's social, emotional, and educational development.
- Monitor and record progress, providing regular feedback to the class teacher, SENCO, and parents/carers.
- Assist with personal care and physical needs, ensuring the child's comfort and safety at all times.
- Support inclusion in the classroom and during playtimes, helping the child engage with peers and participate in school activities.
- Previous experience working with children or adults with SEN, ideally with complex needs.
- Understanding of strategies for supporting children with communication, sensory, and behavioural difficulties.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient and caring approach.
- Ability to work flexibly as part of a team, taking initiative and adapting to the child's changing needs.
- A commitment to promoting the child's independence and wellbeing.
- Relevant qualifications in supporting teaching and learning, such as a Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.
- Experience in using visual supports, PECS, Makaton, or similar communication aids.
- First Aid and/or Manual Handling training.
- A welcoming and inclusive school community.
- Ongoing professional development opportunities.
- Supportive leadership and access to specialist resources.
