About the Role

As a Staff Engineer, IC Design at pSemi, you will play a pivotal role in developing cutting-edge analog integrated circuits and power management solutions. You'll be responsible for all aspects of the design lifecycle, from initial product definition to silicon validation and production support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Product Development: Collaborate with marketing to define new products through feasibility studies and competitive analyses.
  • Design & Evaluation: Lead the design process, encompassing schematic capture, IC layout, simulation, package analysis, evaluation board design, design validation, and mentorship of junior engineers.
  • Documentation & Knowledge Sharing: Create comprehensive documentation to educate colleagues on novel design techniques and provide guidance on product usage.
  • Product Characterization: Work closely with characterization and test engineers to define, execute, and analyze data from product performance characterization.
  • Production ATE Development: Partner with test engineers to define, develop, and implement production automated test equipment (ATE) solutions.
  • Customer Support: Provide technical support to applications, product, test, and manufacturing engineers by addressing customer inquiries, assessing field failures, and contributing to yield improvements.
  • Technology Advancement: Collaborate with technologists to define the technology roadmap, ensuring alignment with product roadmap performance and functional requirements.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • 6+ years of experience in analog integrated circuit design and power management circuit design (depending on education level).
  • 5+ years of experience within the semiconductor industry.
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering silicon designs across multiple foundry processes.
  • In-depth understanding of industry standard design conventions and rules in analog circuit design, with a focus on risk mitigation.
  • Solid grasp of analog circuit theory and power management circuits.
  • Exceptional project management skills.
  • Creative and innovative approach to architectural design.
  • Proficiency in design tools such as Cadence.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Led at least 5 power management chip products to market.
  • Collaborated on the development of 10+ analog IC designs.
  • Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python) for automation and analysis.
