Venesky Brown is seeking a highly skilled HR Business Partner to join our team on a 6-month contract with the potential to extend. The successful candidate will support project work within the HR team, focusing on organisational change and restructuring activities.
Key Responsibilities- Work closely with leaders and managers to deliver the people agenda, providing professional advice, support, and coaching to enable effective decision-making and influence the delivery of local people-related initiatives.
- Identify, propose, and implement people solutions, collaborating with senior P&OD colleagues to include organisational design and development, workforce planning, and talent management initiatives.
- Lead change initiatives, defining appropriate actions and managing their implementation, encompassing planning, engagement, and effective communications.
- Provide advice and guidance on complex people issues, working in partnership with the Employee Relations Hub and/or leading on employee relations matters.
- Participate in recruitment, selection, and job evaluation processes, providing advice to managers on job design, work analysis, and organisational structure.
- Contribute to the organisation's diversity and inclusion agenda, supporting Athena Swan and other related initiatives.
- Network effectively across the organisation, strengthening communication channels and facilitating client engagement with P&OD initiatives.
- Develop and drive initiatives to build colleague engagement and enhance local management capability in people management issues.
- Contribute to the delivery and analysis of regular KPI and ad-hoc management information.
- Work in partnership with central Shared Services P&OD team members to ensure the smooth delivery of P&OD services.
- Scottish Credit and Qualification Framework level 9 (Ordinary Degree, Scottish Vocational Qualification level 4) in a relevant subject or equivalent relevant professional HR/P&OD generalist experience.
- Chartered CIPD membership or equivalent experience.
- Well-developed knowledge of HR best practice and employment legislation.
- Ability to adopt a consultancy style, strategic HR business partnering approach, with proven influencing, judgement, analytical, and problem-solving ability.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to plan, prioritise, and deliver across a range of work activities.
- Ability to interpret relevant policies, employment legislation, and good practice and apply to complex cases.
- Highly effective written and oral communication skills with the ability to draft accurate, concise, and comprehensive reports and letters.
- Excellent IT skills, including a high level of competency in the use of Microsoft Office applications and data manipulation.
- Confident, credible, and resilient with the ability to effectively manage conflict and demanding clients.
- Ability to work independently, lead on activities where required, and contribute as a team player.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and deal sensitively with related issues/individuals with tact, diplomacy, and discretion.
- Knowledge of job evaluation methodologies, especially Hay.
- Knowledge of HR/Payroll systems.
- Experience of developing people policy, procedure, and management guidance.
- Experience of designing and delivering presentations and management training.
- Experience of consulting and negotiating with trade unions.
- Experience of organisational change/restructuring activities.
- Experience of supervising and managing performance and development.
