Job Summary

Venesky Brown is seeking a highly skilled HR Business Partner to join our team on a 6-month contract with the potential to extend. The successful candidate will support project work within the HR team, focusing on organisational change and restructuring activities.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Work closely with leaders and managers to deliver the people agenda, providing professional advice, support, and coaching to enable effective decision-making and influence the delivery of local people-related initiatives.
  2. Identify, propose, and implement people solutions, collaborating with senior P&OD colleagues to include organisational design and development, workforce planning, and talent management initiatives.
  3. Lead change initiatives, defining appropriate actions and managing their implementation, encompassing planning, engagement, and effective communications.
  4. Provide advice and guidance on complex people issues, working in partnership with the Employee Relations Hub and/or leading on employee relations matters.
  5. Participate in recruitment, selection, and job evaluation processes, providing advice to managers on job design, work analysis, and organisational structure.
  6. Contribute to the organisation's diversity and inclusion agenda, supporting Athena Swan and other related initiatives.
  7. Network effectively across the organisation, strengthening communication channels and facilitating client engagement with P&OD initiatives.
  8. Develop and drive initiatives to build colleague engagement and enhance local management capability in people management issues.
  9. Contribute to the delivery and analysis of regular KPI and ad-hoc management information.
  10. Work in partnership with central Shared Services P&OD team members to ensure the smooth delivery of P&OD services.
Essential Skills
  1. Scottish Credit and Qualification Framework level 9 (Ordinary Degree, Scottish Vocational Qualification level 4) in a relevant subject or equivalent relevant professional HR/P&OD generalist experience.
  2. Chartered CIPD membership or equivalent experience.
  3. Well-developed knowledge of HR best practice and employment legislation.
  4. Ability to adopt a consultancy style, strategic HR business partnering approach, with proven influencing, judgement, analytical, and problem-solving ability.
  5. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to plan, prioritise, and deliver across a range of work activities.
  6. Ability to interpret relevant policies, employment legislation, and good practice and apply to complex cases.
  7. Highly effective written and oral communication skills with the ability to draft accurate, concise, and comprehensive reports and letters.
  8. Excellent IT skills, including a high level of competency in the use of Microsoft Office applications and data manipulation.
  9. Confident, credible, and resilient with the ability to effectively manage conflict and demanding clients.
  10. Ability to work independently, lead on activities where required, and contribute as a team player.
  11. Ability to maintain confidentiality and deal sensitively with related issues/individuals with tact, diplomacy, and discretion.
Desirable Skills
  1. Knowledge of job evaluation methodologies, especially Hay.
  2. Knowledge of HR/Payroll systems.
  3. Experience of developing people policy, procedure, and management guidance.
  4. Experience of designing and delivering presentations and management training.
  5. Experience of consulting and negotiating with trade unions.
  6. Experience of organisational change/restructuring activities.
  7. Experience of supervising and managing performance and development.
