About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Quality Assurance Engineer to join our dynamic team at HID Global. As a key member of our software development team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality of our software products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement and Maintain Automated Test Scripts: Develop and maintain Cucumber BDD frameworks for automated test scripts, utilizing Selenium for automated testing, and Postman for API testing.
  • Integrate with ADO Pipelines and GIT Repositories: Integrate Selenium automation with ADO pipelines and manage code in GIT repositories.
  • Conduct Performance Testing: Conduct performance testing using Jmeter, an open-source performance testing tool.
  • Identify and Troubleshoot Issues: Expertly identify, debug, and troubleshoot issues within the application.
  • Learn and Adapt to Complex Project Requirements: Quickly learn and adapt to complex project requirements.
  • Lead CAT Testing with the Customer: Lead CAT testing with the customer, creating test plans/scripts from use cases, user stories, and functional specifications.
  • Manage the Entire Test Life Cycle: Manage the entire test life cycle using test management tools such as ADO.
  • Apply Agile Methodologies: Apply knowledge of Agile methodologies, particularly Scrum practices, in the testing process.
  • Collaborate with the Team: Work effectively under pressure in a global collaborative team environment.
  • Mentor and Train New Testers: Train and mentor new testers, ensuring knowledge transfer and team skill enhancement.
  • Prioritize Tasks and Stay Up-to-Date: Prioritize tasks effectively and stay up to date with the workload.
  • Communicate Effectively: Exhibit good communication skills and maintain a flexible and positive attitude.
  • Develop and Maintain Comprehensive QA Documentation: Develop and maintain comprehensive QA documentation.
Requirements
  • Higher Level Education: Higher level education in software engineering or computer science, or have equivalent experience.
  • Experience in QA Automation: Requires a minimum of 2-4 years' experience in a QA Automation Engineer role or similar.
  • Proven Capabilities in Leading Software Product Testing: Proven capabilities in leading software product testing, ideally for products that integrate software and hardware.
  • Ability to Drive QA Success: Proven ability to drive QA success via integrated cross-functional teams involving deep collaboration with technical/software team and design.
Work Requirements
  • Location: Basingstoke. Atleast 3 days a week in the office.
  • UK Right to Work: Must be eligible to work in the UK.
  • Travel: Experience the excitement of dynamic project delivery with 20-30% travel opportunities.
  • Compliance: With all relevant customer and HID Global policies and procedures related to Quality, Security, Safety, Business Continuity, Environmental systems, and laws.
