Position Overview

HR Advisor

Location: Beccles, Suffolk
Hours: Full-Time (39 hours per week)
Salary: Competitive

We are looking for a skilled HR professional who is ready to make a significant contribution in a vibrant and fast-paced setting. The ideal candidate will serve as a vital support to the HR Manager, ensuring efficient HR operations and offering first-rate advice on a variety of employee relations issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Foster strong relationships with management and staff, delivering reliable HR advice on diverse personnel matters.
  • Oversee the comprehensive range of employee relations (ER) issues, including absence management, performance challenges, disciplinary actions, grievances, and flexible working arrangements.
  • Provide guidance on occupational health referrals and manage cases for return-to-work.
  • Draft employment contracts and other HR-related documents.
  • Coordinate and participate in both informal and formal meetings, ensuring precise documentation and note-taking.
  • Develop, revise, and implement HR policies and procedures, along with the company handbook.
  • Assist and occasionally stand in for the HR Manager, while also mentoring the HR team.
  • Regularly compile and analyze HR data to identify trends and suggest improvements.
  • Maintain and update employee records, including leave, absences, and training.
  • Contribute to HR initiatives, leading small to medium-sized projects aimed at enhancing HR service delivery.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Previous experience as an HR Advisor or in a comparable role.
  • Strong understanding of employment laws and HR practices.
  • Resilient, capable of managing ambiguity and a diverse workload in a dynamic environment.
  • Proactive with exceptional negotiation and influencing abilities.
  • Competent in handling complaints, grievances, disciplinary actions, and appeals.
  • Strong analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • CIPD qualification (or working towards) is advantageous.
  • Proficient in MS Office and HR management systems.
