Position Overview:

In the role of Project Engineer, you will be instrumental in overseeing and managing a variety of engineering projects. Reporting directly to the Operations Director, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams. Your responsibilities will include scoping, planning, implementing, and successfully completing engineering projects of varying scales, complexities, and technologies, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget. You will manage and implement key projects related to modifications to buildings, facilities, and site services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with team members to establish project goals and objectives.
  • Develop project plans and timelines, ensuring compliance with deadlines. Oversee project execution, monitoring progress and making adjustments as necessary.
  • Ensure adherence to design criteria and standards, creating and reviewing designs while documenting essential processes.
  • Conduct feasibility studies to determine labor requirements and cost estimates, as well as developing engineering criteria.
  • Take full responsibility for capital expenditures, implementing effective solutions that yield a good return on investment.
  • Facilitate regular project meetings to communicate updates and address any issues.
  • Coordinate all project-related activities between internal teams and external vendors.
  • Effectively manage and cultivate positive working relationships with contractors and other third parties.
  • Oversee project budgets, tracking expenditures and reviewing invoices to ensure timely and complete delivery within budget.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement strategies to mitigate potential risks.
  • Ensure compliance with current safety regulations and quality standards, raising management of change procedures, URS, and change controls when necessary.
  • Prepare and present project reports to stakeholders, highlighting key milestones and achievements.
  • Work with Operations and Technical Directors to identify strategic opportunities for developing lean capabilities, maximizing yields, and reducing production costs through continuous improvement initiatives.

Candidate Profile:

The ideal candidate will possess the following experience, skills, and attributes:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in project engineering, preferably within the aerosol industry.
  • Strong knowledge of 5S and TPM/WCM methodologies.
  • Good understanding of mechanical and electrical engineering, instrumentation, and automation.
  • Proven experience in project management techniques, including the ability to interpret and design PFDs, P&IDs, and proficiency in MS Office packages.
  • Familiarity with relevant industry codes and standards.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or an equivalent qualification.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills, with the ability to prioritize competing demands and manage workload effectively.
  • Able to manage multiple engineering projects concurrently while providing in-depth technical contributions.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to build effective interpersonal relationships.
