About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Data Center Engineering Manager to join our team at ENGINEERINGUK. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for ensuring the availability and reliability of our data center infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and maintain data center engineering operations across multiple availability zones.
  • Lead a team of facilities managers and engineers to ensure 100% availability of mechanical and electrical services.
  • Develop and implement risk management and mitigation strategies to minimize downtime.
  • Collaborate with IT managers and other business leaders to coordinate projects and optimize plant safety, performance, reliability, and efficiency.
  • Operate and manage routine and emergency services on critical systems such as switchgear, generators, UPS systems, and power distribution equipment.
  • Assist in the design and build-out of new facilities and manage asset and inventory management.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree or Technical Degree and relevant experience.
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience in a mission-critical environment and LSE management experience.
  • 3+ years of people management experience.
  • Previous vendor negotiation and management skills for Data Center and/or upgrade construction contracts.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Understanding of electrical systems in critical data center operations, including utility substation feeds, transformers, switchgear, and associated systems.
  • Understanding of mechanical systems in critical data center operations, including CRAC/CRAHs/AHUs, chillers, cooling towers, and associated systems.
  • Understanding of other facilities systems used in data centers and mission-critical facilities, including fire detection and suppression systems, plumbing and drainage systems, and building monitoring systems.
