Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled School Based Dentist to join our team at Community Health Center, Inc. in Waterbury, Connecticut.

Job Description

The successful candidate will provide diagnosis and treatment planning of routine and emergency dental patients, with a focus on preventive care. They will also assist with orientation, training, and development of dental clinical personnel, including students and residents.

Responsibilities
  • Provide routine comprehensive and emergency dental treatment, emphasizing preventive care.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of all dental services, including completion of encounter forms and dental records.
  • Ensure strict compliance with safety and infection control standards, as well as continuous maintenance of dental facilities and equipment.
  • Provide diagnosis, treatment, and referral for dental emergencies, both during and after regular business hours.
  • Maintain open communication with Dental Director, Site Director, Practice Manager, and other staff, participating in clinical staff training, evaluation, and assessment of dental services.
Requirements
  • DDS or DMD degree from an accredited dental school.
  • Residency in GPR or AEGD certification, or 1-2 years of general dental clinical experience.
  • State of Connecticut dental license, NERB or Regional Dental Boards, and DEA (Federal and State) active licensure.
  • Interest in providing care to a diverse patient population.
  • Written and oral bilingual fluency in a language spoken by our patient population, such as English/Spanish or English/Polish, is strongly preferred.
Work Environment

The School Based Dentist will work in a fast-paced environment, requiring good manual dexterity, fine motor coordination, and physical mobility. They will also be exposed to blood-borne pathogens through direct patient contact, and must follow OSHA standards and universal precautions.
