Legal Counsel Position – Insurance Sector

An accomplished attorney is sought to join the legal department of a prominent client within the insurance industry.

Position Overview

This in-house legal role is tailored for a client specializing in the insurance sector.

Your responsibilities will encompass providing legal knowledge and proficiency, which includes the drafting, negotiation, and assessment of all pertinent commercial contracts and amendments in line with regulatory standards and internal protocols.

This will involve a variety of agreements such as agency contracts, binding authority contracts, third-party administrator contracts, service agreements, service level agreements (SLAs), non-standard terms of business agreements, run-off contracts, co-insurance contracts, re-insurance contracts, share purchase contracts, software and licensing agreements, as well as confidentiality agreements.

Candidate Requirements

The organization is looking for a qualified solicitor or barrister with the following qualifications:

  • A minimum of 3 years of post-qualification experience with substantial expertise in commercial contract work, whether in-house or in private practice.
  • Experience in the insurance sector, either from an in-house or private practice perspective, particularly someone who can provide guidance on regulatory matters.
  • A collaborative team player who can thrive in a cooperative environment and engage effectively with colleagues.
  • Strong analytical skills and decision-making capabilities, demonstrating sound judgment.
  • The ability to deliver commercially viable solutions to the organization on a daily basis.
  • An adaptable legal professional capable of advising on a diverse range of legal areas.
