About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Biomedical Scientist to join our Haematology and Transfusion team at Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing analytical data for the Trust, working as part of a team to deliver a patient-orientated medical laboratory service, and demonstrating an exemplary standard of work at all times.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the provision of reliable and accurate analytical data for the Trust, in accordance with relevant regulatory standards and requirements.
- Work as part of a team of Biomedical Scientists to deliver a patient-orientated medical laboratory service.
- Deputise for Senior Biomedical Scientists as required and provide specialist advice to clinicians.
- Assist in the ongoing achievement of departmental quality standards.
- Participate in the agreed working patterns of the department to provide a safe and effective service.
Requirements
- BSc (Hons) or equivalent in Biomedical Sciences.
- Registration with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC) as a Biomedical Scientist.
- At least two years experience working in a relevant clinical laboratory environment.
- Evidence of supervisory experience, training and developing staff, and contribution to service improvement.
