Interim Financial Operations Leader | Private-Equity Backed Retail Scaleup

Harmonic Finance™ is excited to announce an opportunity for an interim Financial Operations Leader to join a rapidly expanding retail scale-up. This role presents a unique chance to be part of a dynamic organization poised for significant growth on an initial contract basis.

In this position, you will collaborate closely with the Founder to enhance operational effectiveness while overseeing the Finance Controller and junior team members to ensure the seamless operation of daily financial activities and critical strategic initiatives. This role is ideal for a motivated finance professional eager to contribute to an innovative and values-driven organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the finance function and manage investment reporting to the private equity stakeholders, being a pivotal member of the leadership team and engaging with the Board.
  • Partner with the Founder to achieve commercial objectives across Finance, HR, Legal, and Operations, including oversight of Sales and Marketing.
  • Ensure adequate cash flow for organizational operations.
  • Collaborate with the Founder to develop quarterly and annual budgets.
  • Act as a Finance Business Partner to senior management.
  • Generate financial reports and analyses, including cash flow management and forecasting.
  • Support the team in ensuring the efficient operation of the finance function.
  • Implement and enhance financial processes and systems.
  • Establish standardized reporting structures across various entities.
  • Examine budgeting and forecasting methodologies.
  • Enhance financial planning capabilities for management information.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor and business partner to the Senior Leadership.
  • Ensure the effective operation of the finance team.
  • Engage in ad-hoc projects as required.

Essential Qualifications:

  • ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
  • Proven experience in a Finance Director or CFO role, balancing hands-on and strategic responsibilities.
  • Experience in a fast-paced growth environment or start-up.
  • Strong background in product or stock management.
  • Ability to strategize and resolve complex issues.
  • Demonstrated leadership and organizational skills.
  • High emotional intelligence and leadership qualities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in an entrepreneurial scale-up environment.
  • Background in retail, e-commerce, FMCG, Consumer Goods, or Manufacturing is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Experience in a Private Equity or Venture Capital-backed organization is a plus.
