Senior Estimator - We are seeking a highly skilled professional to join a prominent and award-winning civil engineering and tunneling firm. This organization has a strong international presence and boasts a rich history of successfully completing major projects. With over three decades of experience and a turnover of £114 million, they are recognized for delivering exceptional services across various sectors, particularly in complex infrastructure initiatives.

Position Overview for Senior Estimator

  • Engage in securing upcoming projects that prioritize Safety, Wellbeing, Profitability, Environmental stewardship, and Sustainability.
  • Analyze project drawings, contracts, and specifications to fully comprehend the scope, materials, and requirements.
  • Collaborate effectively with project managers, engineers, and designers to collect vital project information.
  • Participate in monthly Cost Value Reconciliation meetings to receive feedback on ongoing projects.
  • Calculate and prepare detailed cost estimates encompassing labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor expenses.
  • Develop comprehensive bid packages, which include cost breakdowns, schedules, and proposal documents for clients and subcontractors.
  • Evaluate potential risks and contingencies associated with project estimates and bids.
  • Conduct business-to-business introductions and presentations as necessary with clients and suppliers.

Position Requirements for Senior Estimator

  • Degree qualified, with a focus on achieving chartered status.
  • Experience on-site in tunneling or civil engineering projects.
  • In-depth knowledge of heavy civil works, tunneling, and trenchless technology.
  • Proven track record in producing successful bids for projects valued between £500k and £20m.
  • Strong understanding of contractual frameworks, particularly NEC 3 and NEC 4.
  • Experience in Bid Strategy and Risk Costing.
  • Competence in Project Planning and Programming.
  • Proficient in utilizing construction estimating software.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Professional certification, such as Certified Professional Estimator, is advantageous.

Remuneration for Senior Estimator

  • Salary range: £60,000 - £85,000
  • 23 days of annual leave plus 8 public holidays
  • Discretionary company bonus

  • Pension scheme: 5% employer contribution and 4% employee contribution
