Position Overview:
Red Sky Personnel is in search of a highly skilled and seasoned professional to fill the role of Head of Air Traffic Services (HATS). The ideal candidate will be responsible for the safe and effective management of Air Traffic Services, ensuring that all regulatory standards are met.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the development and implementation of policies and procedures to manage Air Traffic operations effectively, including monitoring and reporting on Significant Safety Critical Events (SCEs), Quality Management Systems (QMS), Just Culture, and Best Practices.
- Ensure strict adherence to all regulatory standards.
- Implement and uphold the Safety Management System (SMS) within Air Traffic Control (ATC), including conducting Gap Analysis to formulate SMS strategies.
- Ensure that ATC personnel are adequately trained, qualified, and competent in their roles.
- Hold ATC staff accountable for their safety performance and operational duties.
- Maintain an adequate and compliant staffing level during operational hours, adhering to working time regulations.
- Act as the primary liaison with regulatory authorities regarding Air Traffic Services.
- Serve as the main contact for all matters related to ATC engineering and maintenance.
- Establish necessary resources and financial controls to ensure compliance within the Air Traffic function.
- Participate in relevant airport meetings as required.
- Report any safety issues related to Air Traffic Services to the Operations Director promptly.
- Act as the accountable manager for service provision in accordance with relevant documents.
- Approve the Engineering Manager for contracted providers.
- Notify the Engineering Manager of any proposed projects or developments that may affect Air Traffic Services equipment.
- Ensure that contracted personnel responsible for Air Traffic Engineering receive appropriate training as per the training and competency scheme.
Work Schedule: This position requires a commitment of 40 hours per week, with occasional unsociable hours as necessary to meet operational demands.
Location: This role is office-based with occasional travel requirements.
