About the Role
The Head of Design plays a crucial role in Saltrock Head Office's Product strategy, driving the success of all categories through effective trend building, strategic planning, and range building.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and grow a team of talented Designers, collaborating with colleagues across Buying, Merchandising, and Brand Marketing to create seasonal ranges.
- Set the departmental critical path, understanding the impact for Design and cross-functionally with other internal stakeholders.
- Ensure the design team is aligned with the business goals and product design direction is consistent with Saltrock's brand identity, values, and target audience.
- Oversee range development, ensuring the product reflects the Brand & Product strategy, the range is without gaps or duplication, and that the season is logically and commercially thought through.
- Identify new product opportunities as they emerge in the market and action those in the range in a commercial manner.
- Manage the process of creating a balanced range, developing key seasonal shapes and trends while keeping the customer at the forefront of your mind.
- Collaborate across departments and functions of the business, including Creative & Marketing, to ensure the design vision is communicated clearly.
- Shape and drive lean, agile processes within the Design process.
- Provide clear direction and development to the team, identifying individual training needs and encouraging collaborative ways of working.
- Motivate and engage the team through recognition and regular feedback.
