About the Role

GSL Education is seeking a dedicated and passionate Teaching Assistant to join our team in Gateshead, Tyne and Wear, Newcastle. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting primary school students in their academic journey.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist teachers in planning and delivering engaging lessons tailored to meet the needs of individual students.
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students, helping them overcome challenges and achieve their academic goals.
  • Foster a safe and inclusive classroom atmosphere where every student feels valued and supported.
  • Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback to teachers and parents.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and help students develop essential life skills.
  • Collaborate with teachers and staff to ensure a cohesive and effective educational experience for students.
Requirements
  • A genuine passion for supporting students and helping them achieve their full potential.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with students, teachers, and parents.
  • Empathy, patience, and a compassionate approach to understanding and addressing the diverse needs of students.
  • Adaptability and flexibility to work in a dynamic educational environment.
  • Previous experience working with children or in an educational setting is desirable but not essential.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and learning.
