This is a full-time opportunity. We are open to considering candidates from Senior to Lead levels.

About HoloMem -

HoloMem is at the forefront of innovation, focusing on the development of holographic data storage technologies aimed at significantly reducing the environmental footprint of cloud computing. Established in 2020, we have successfully created and patented a groundbreaking system that enables the writing and reading of data as holograms within a material designed to endure extreme environmental conditions. This technology is particularly suited for cloud data storage, an industry responsible for 2.5% of global carbon emissions.

Recently, HoloMem received a grant from Innovate UK to accelerate the advancement of our pioneering technology, and we are eager to expand our team of innovative thinkers to support this exciting phase of growth.

Role Summary -

We are in search of a highly proficient and seasoned Embedded Software Engineer to become a vital part of our dynamic and expanding team. In this role, you will be instrumental in the design, development, and enhancement of our prototype systems. Your proficiency in embedded software, along with your skills in C++, Python, and Linux environments, will be crucial in helping us achieve our ambitious objectives.

Key Responsibilities -

  • Engage with cross-disciplinary teams to conceptualize and develop cutting-edge systems for data storage applications.
  • Leverage your embedded software expertise to create advanced systems that align with HoloMem's technical aspirations.
  • Utilize your knowledge of Linux-based systems through C++ and Python programming languages.
  • Remain informed about the latest trends in software engineering and actively contribute to HoloMem's technological advancements.
  • Collaborate with external partners, including vendors and research institutions, to harness their expertise and facilitate technology integration.
  • Possess additional skills in electronics as a valuable asset.
  • Familiarity with storage and flash technologies would be considered a further advantage.

Qualifications -

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in embedded software, electronics, physics, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in embedded software, particularly in the design and development of innovative systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proven track record of effectively addressing technical challenges.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to foster collaboration within cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated capability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment.
  • A passion for advancing the field of optical engineering and contributing to technological progress.
