Role Summary: As an Information Security Specialist, you will be tasked with the design, execution, and upkeep of security protocols aimed at defending the organization’s IT systems, networks, and data. You will collaborate with various departments to identify potential security vulnerabilities and implement strategies to mitigate risks, thereby maintaining the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of critical information.

Key Duties:

  • Formulate and enforce security policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Perform routine security evaluations, including vulnerability assessments and penetration tests.
  • Monitor security alerts and reports, addressing incidents in a timely manner.
  • Configure and oversee security solutions such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and antivirus applications.
  • Deliver security awareness training sessions for staff members.
  • Ensure adherence to relevant industry standards and regulations.
  • Work alongside IT teams to develop secure network designs.
  • Keep abreast of emerging security trends, threats, and technological advancements.
  • Compile and present security analysis and recommendations to senior management.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cyber Security, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in information security or a similar field.
  • In-depth knowledge of network security, operating systems, and software vulnerabilities.
  • Familiarity with security tools and technologies such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls, and endpoint protection solutions.
  • Understanding of cryptographic protocols and security frameworks.
  • Awareness of regulatory standards and compliance requirements.
  • Exceptional analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.

Preferred Certifications:

  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
  • Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)
  • CompTIA Security+
  • Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)
