About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Programme Support Tutor to join our team at IntoUniversity. As a Programme Support Tutor, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery and organisation of our education programme in the centre.

Main Responsibilities
  • Deliver the Education Programme: Deliver the IntoUniversity programme effectively to children and young people in different settings, including schools-based workshops, Academic Support sessions, and educational visits.
  • Support Programme Organisation: Assist with the organisation and delivery of the Academic Support, FOCUS, and Mentoring Programmes.
  • Liaise with Schools and Partners: Liaise with schools and other partner bodies to organise the classroom and resources and plan project delivery.
  • Update Displays and Resources: Update and maintain IntoUniversity displays, publicity, and resources.
  • Recruit Children and Young People: Work with the IntoUniversity Centre Leader to recruit children and young people to the programme, including after-school Academic Support and FOCUS Weeks.
  • Develop Educational Resources: Develop educational resources and worksheets for use across all IntoUniversity programmes.
  • Ensure Compliance: Ensure compliance with all necessary regulations and legal requirements, including the Children's Act, Children and Young People (Scotland) Act, Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act, Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act, and legislation and policies related to Equal Opportunities and Health & Safety.
  • Champion Diversity and Inclusion: Champion diversity and inclusion in your role at all times, referring to the Diversity and Inclusion Staff Responsibilities Guide.
  • Undertake Additional Tasks: Undertake any task that may be requested from time to time that may be consistent with the nature and scope of this post.
Contract and Working Hours

This is a permanent, part-time role with a starting salary of £27,400 (pro-rata). The working hours are 15 or 16 hours a week, local school term-times only, excluding public holidays. The specific working hours will be agreed with the candidate and may include:

  • 16 hours per week across four afternoons: Monday and Thursday 14:00-18:00 and Tuesday and Wednesday 13:30-17:30.
  • 15 hours per week made up of 2 days (between Monday and Thursday) of 7.5 hours each.
