About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mental Health Liaison Practitioner to join our team at Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Liaison Psychiatry Service, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality mental health assessment, risk assessment, and treatment to patients presenting with mental health issues within a physical healthcare setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide mental health assessment and risk assessment to patients presenting with mental health issues.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with patients, carers, and clinical colleagues.
  • Deliver a range of interventions, including pharmacological and psychologically informed interventions, to support patients' mental health and wellbeing.
  • Undertake skilled and robust risk assessments and prepare clear and confident risk management plans.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide indirect patient care and support the timely and safe discharge of patients from the hospital.
Person Specification

We are looking for a qualified and registered mental health practitioner with a degree or equivalent qualification, minimum diploma level. Essential qualifications include professional education or qualification in psychological therapies, particularly CBT or solution-focused brief interventions.

Desirable qualifications include training or relevant experience in managing suicide risk and risk management.
