Position Overview


A key member of a dedicated team of versatile engineers responsible for ensuring prompt responses to maintenance needs and equipment failures in a continuous operation setting.


Collaborating with the Operations team to meet production objectives by minimizing engineering downtime and enhancing the availability, performance, and efficiency of existing machinery through ongoing improvement initiatives.


Delivering effective and timely responses to equipment failures while ensuring that scheduled maintenance tasks are completed in accordance with site Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Foster a workplace culture that prioritizes safety and reduces incidents.
  • Execute responsibilities to maintain and uphold necessary Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Provide around-the-clock support to the production team.
  • Respond to machinery failures and ensure all actions are documented in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Offer first-line maintenance assistance to manufacturing operations.
  • Monitor production lines to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance tasks and accurately log completed work in the CMMS.
  • Provide insights for enhancing the planned maintenance framework.
  • Document maintenance tasks and breakdowns within the CMMS.
  • Manage spare parts orders and coordinate with Engineering Stores.
  • Collaborate with contractors and issue necessary permits (if qualified).
  • Assist in the installation and decommissioning of machinery.
  • Engage in both electrical and mechanical maintenance activities proactively and reactively.
  • Diagnose equipment failures and take appropriate actions.
  • Communicate and escalate issues when additional support is needed.
  • Conduct routine safety and maintenance inspections of equipment.
  • Ensure that machinery operates efficiently to produce high-quality products.
  • Collaborate with and support other departments in the overall factory operations.
  • Provide training to others as needed for development and compliance.
  • Identify personal training requirements and work with management to establish a timeline for achievement.
  • Contribute to and assist in implementing continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing quality, safety, efficiency, and waste reduction.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement teams as necessary.
  • Maintain daily communication with Team Leaders and Managers to ensure alignment on maintenance, engineering, and production priorities.
  • Mentor and train colleagues as required.
  • Step in for the Team Leader when necessary.
Work Schedule

* 4 on 4 off

* Shifts: 6:00am - 6:00pm & 6:00pm - 6:00am

* Total of 42 hours per week

Compensation

* £21.68 per hour / £910.56 weekly / £47,349 annually
