Job Role Overview

The main role of this position is to provide support to students in accessing the curriculum and ensuring their welfare. The ideal candidate will be expected to embody the service's vision, values, and purpose, prioritizing the needs of service users. This role aims to improve the education and lives of pupils, requiring the ability to work at various College premises, some of which may be located at a distance from the main sites. While driving is preferred, it is not essential.

Key Responsibilities
  • To fulfill transport requirements, including traveling on public transport
  • To work with students who have complex needs, which may involve supporting intimate personal care and managing challenging behavior
  • To undertake relevant training, including dispensing medication to students, acting as a first aider, and managing challenging behavior
  • To provide additional support to tutors or students who are experiencing difficulties, with the aim of enabling as many students as possible to participate in their timetabled sessions
  • To maintain a proactive approach to monitoring the physical appearance of the College site, including tasks such as picking up litter, weeds, dirty windows, and cleaning toilets as requested
