What Is the Role?

Travelers Europe is seeking a Program Coordinator with a background in the insurance sector to become part of our team.

In this role, you will take charge of managing and executing your designated project(s) and workstreams within our European operations. Your responsibilities will include overseeing project plans, backlogs, work-stream activities, milestones, risks, and issues, ensuring a standardized approach across the project portfolio. Additionally, you will mentor and guide colleagues outside the Project Management Office (PMO) in project management and Lean methodologies, collaborating with work stream leaders, business stakeholders, business analysts, and IT personnel to ensure objectives and milestones are achieved.

Travelers Europe supports flexible working arrangements, allowing employees to work in a hybrid model, which includes a combination of in-office and remote work days. This policy is subject to change at the discretion of the company.

This position is eligible for a referral bonus for new joiners. If you are referred by a current employee, both you and the referring employee may qualify for this incentive.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with supervision to manage, plan, and execute assigned project(s) using suitable methodologies, tools, and techniques. Provide coaching and support to non-PMO project managers in project management skills as needed. Offer strategic insights to assist the PMO leadership team in establishing a center of excellence for project management and delivery across Europe. Operate within the defined parameters of Travelers' methodology and the PMO to achieve collective project and program objectives. Ensure that all project documentation, artifacts, and analytics are maintained to the required standards. Manage interdependencies between projects and programs, assess risks, and ensure appropriate mitigation strategies are in place. Effectively manage project resources and provide clear direction. Cultivate relationships with executive-level stakeholders. Uphold ethical standards in all actions and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements by completing necessary training and certifications. Maintain accurate records of all interactions with customers, brokers, and other parties. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess: Experience in the insurance industry. Certification in a recognized Project Management Methodology, such as Prince2, ISEB, or PMP. Experience in a Scrum Master role within an Agile Development environment, with a general understanding of Kanban. A proven track record managing up to 8 work-streams and related IT and non-IT projects, with the ability to navigate change and collaborate with business and senior executive stakeholders to develop effective project and program plans. Comprehensive knowledge and experience in creating Business Cases. Strong business acumen, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to work effectively at all organizational levels, coupled with excellent negotiation, communication, mentoring, and coaching skills. Proficiency in proactively identifying and managing risks to minimize the need for contingency plans. Capability to recommend project re-scoping, postponement, or cancellation as necessary.

Essential Qualifications

A solid background in Project Management (both Business and IT), with extensive knowledge of project management tools and techniques, planning, and dependency management. Familiarity with various methodologies (agile, iterative, and waterfall) and their applications. Experience in monitoring costs and resources against project objectives is crucial.
