Location: Merton
Commitment: 1-2 days per week (flexible scheduling available)

Role Summary:

This position is an excellent opportunity for individuals eager to gain experience in the substance misuse sector. While prior knowledge in this field is beneficial, we prioritize candidates who demonstrate a genuine enthusiasm for our mission. A constructive mindset and a willingness to learn are crucial, along with a compassionate and non-judgmental attitude towards individuals facing challenges related to substance use.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Volunteer Recovery Support Practitioner, you will play an essential role in our services, providing various forms of care and assistance. Your contributions may include:

  • Offering guidance to service users on topics such as drug awareness, overdose prevention, and harm reduction strategies.
  • Supporting the Capital Card reward initiative for our service users.
  • Collaborating with practitioners to manage a caseload of service users, which may involve one-on-one support and group facilitation.
  • Helping service users connect with additional resources, including completing referrals to relevant agencies.

Additionally, you will be expected to engage in team meetings as necessary and undertake other tasks that support the overall needs of our service.
