Older Persons Independent Living Service (OPILS)
Role Overview: This position is based within the Sheltered Housing Schemes throughout the City of Sheffield, focusing on the Older Persons Independent Living Service.
We are seeking a dedicated individual to fill the role of Neighbourhood Officer within our established team. This position involves a variety of housing responsibilities aimed at providing a responsive service to a diverse and expanding client base across over 30 schemes in the city.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate flexibility, as the role may require working outside of standard hours depending on the needs of the schemes.
Candidates must be capable of managing their own workload effectively while also being a collaborative team member.
Essential qualifications include a solid understanding of IT systems, familiarity with housing principles, and an awareness of the unique needs of older individuals and vulnerable adults.
Our Independent Living schemes are designed to promote social engagement and combat loneliness. We expect our Neighbourhood Officers to actively support and facilitate regular activities within these schemes.
In this rewarding position, the successful candidate will be expected to adopt a truly person-centered approach to housing management and support. By collaborating with various services, you will assist older and more vulnerable adults in maintaining their tenancies within a designated area.
A strong emphasis is placed on customer care, effective signposting, and collaborative working relationships. Understanding professional boundaries in relation to tenants is crucial. While a full clean driving license is preferred, it is not mandatory.
