Assistant Nursery Manager

At Banana Moon Day Nursery, we are excited to announce an opportunity for a dedicated Deputy Nursery Manager to contribute to our vibrant establishment. In this pivotal role, you will assist the Nursery Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the nursery, ensuring that we provide outstanding care and education to our children while fostering a supportive atmosphere for our staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Nursery Manager in executing and upholding policies and procedures, ensuring adherence to all regulatory standards.
- Collaborate closely with the Nursery Manager on a daily basis, offering support to both the management and the team.
- Oversee the daily functioning of the nursery in the absence of the Nursery Manager.
- Implement the unique, play-based Banana Moon Curriculum effectively.
- Establish strong connections with families, promoting open dialogue and supporting their child's developmental milestones.
- Ensure the health, safety, and welfare of all children and staff within the nursery.
- Serve as a positive role model for other staff members throughout the nursery.
The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in early childhood education, complemented by leadership and management capabilities. A solid understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) is essential, along with a passion for delivering exceptional care and education to young learners. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are vital, as you will engage closely with both staff and families.
Requirements:
- Level 3 or higher qualification in Early Years or Childcare.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the EYFS framework and relevant statutory obligations.
- DBS clearance and appropriate safeguarding training.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Prior experience as a deputy manager or room leader in a nursery setting.
- Experience with regulatory bodies is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Experience collaborating with parents and external agencies.
