Cost Management Specialist

Company Overview:
A prominent player in the construction sector is looking for a skilled Quantity Surveyor to enhance their social housing team. This role focuses on the construction of residential units, including houses and apartments, throughout the Yorkshire area and beyond.
Role Overview:
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in quantity surveying, with a commitment to contributing positively to the social housing landscape. This position requires a blend of technical expertise and interpersonal skills to effectively manage project finances.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and oversee comprehensive cost estimates, budgets, and financial documentation for social housing initiatives.
2. Track and manage project expenditures, ensuring alignment with financial forecasts.
3. Collaborate with project stakeholders, including managers, architects, and contractors, to ensure precise financial planning.
4. Conduct site inspections to monitor progress, validate expenditures, and address any contractual variations.
5. Engage in negotiations with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain favorable pricing and terms.
6. Ensure compliance with all relevant industry regulations and standards.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally within the social housing or residential construction domain.
- Strong financial management skills, with the ability to effectively oversee budgets and project costs.
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
- Capability to work autonomously and collaboratively, managing multiple projects concurrently.
- Familiarity with construction contracts, legal requirements, and industry best practices.
