Clinical Trials Pharmacist

We are seeking an experienced pharmacist to join our team as a Clinical Trials Pharmacist. The successful candidate will have a hospital background and experience in clinical trials. The role will involve working with the R&D department and clinical research teams to ensure the smooth running of the trials service.
Main Responsibilities- Oversight of the clinical trials department in the pharmacy, ensuring SOPs are reviewed regularly and up to date.
- Staff training and development, ensuring staff are appropriately trained and competent in their roles.
- Storage and supply of investigational drugs, ensuring compliance with UK law and regulations.
- Appropriate governance and risk procedures for all investigational drugs used in clinical trials.
- Attending departmental business meetings and being an active research advocate to the department.
- Line managing a small number of pharmacy technicians.

Person Specification- Registered as a pharmacist with the GPhC.
- Master of pharmacy (or equivalent) degree.
- Postgraduate diploma in pharmacy practice or similar subject.
- Good Clinical Practice (GCP) training.
- Independent prescribing.
- Knowledge of legislation and guidance relevant to clinical trials.
- Experience of managing a service and/or line management.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Methodical, able to prioritise own work and that of others.
- Ability to problem solve and to appropriately escalate concerns.
- Good personal organisation and time management skills.
- Ability to work unsupervised and to manage self and motivate others.
- Ability to work under pressure and to switch between tasks as priorities change.
- Demonstrates a professional attitude and is able to demonstrate adaptability and innovation in work practice.
