We are seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant Manager to join our team at Fusion Lifestyle. As a key member of our management team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our leisure centre and delivering exceptional customer service.

About the Role

The Assistant Manager will be responsible for assisting the General Manager in the day-to-day management of the centre, including supervising staff, managing budgets, and ensuring compliance with health and safety policies. You will also be responsible for driving membership sales and secondary revenue, controlling expenditure, and championing customer service and staff engagement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the delivery of Fusion's vision, strategy, and values
  • Ensure centre financial targets and KPIs are communicated to relevant team members and that appropriate plans are in place to achieve targets
  • Responsible for day-to-day management of the leisure centre, carrying out the Duty Manager role when on duty
  • Assist in delivering local sales and marketing plans for membership and swim school
  • Continuously review and improve the centre's fitness, group exercise, and other dry side programming
  • Implement, maintain, and manage an effective system of controls throughout the centre, covering financial and non-financial aspects of the business
  • Support the preparation of annual service plans, financial plans, and statistics
  • Assist the General Manager in ensuring all contracts, licences, and documentation required for safe and effective operation are in place and adhered to
  • Ensure centre operating objectives and standards of performance are owned by the management team and employees
  • Support the General Manager in leading and developing high-performing teams through effective recruitment, people management, development, retention, and succession planning strategies
  • Ensure the centre is properly resourced and staff are optimally deployed to deliver business objectives
Requirements
  • First Aid at Work and AED qualification
  • Pool Plant Operator qualification (for sites with pools)
  • National Pool Lifeguard qualification (for sites with pools)
