Key Responsibilities
  • Data Governance Policy Development: Implement data governance policies, procedures, and standards that align with industry best practices.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work with cross-functional teams to document identified activities for automation in areas such as data quality monitoring, metadata management, or master data management.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with stakeholders across the organization to ensure effective communication and collaboration on projects related to master data.
  • Compliance and Monitoring: Monitor and measure compliance with data governance policies/standards and identify areas for improvement or enhancement.
  • Data Engineering Collaboration: Collaborate with the Data Engineering team to ensure that data pipelines and systems adhere to data governance policies and standards.
  • Data Modelling and Analysis: Use data modelling techniques to identify ways in which the organization can operate more effectively. Gather metadata (TDE, BDE, Lineage).
  • Process Mapping and Analysis: Explore how the organization is currently operating via research, collaborating with stakeholders at all levels, collecting quantitative data.
  • Data Process Mapping: Work with stakeholders across the organization to map out data processes. Understand different solutions, their risks, benefits, and impacts.
Requirements
  • Data Governance Expertise: In-depth understanding of data governance frameworks (e.g., DAMA-DMBOK). Familiarity with industry standards and best practices.
  • Experience: Around 2 years experience in a Data Governance / Analyst type role.
  • Data Protection Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of GDPR and other data protection regulations relevant to the UK and Ireland.
  • Data Management Skills: Experience with data management practices, including data quality, data integration, and master data management.
  • Data Governance Tools: Familiarity with data governance & quality tools and methodologies (e.g., Collibra, Informatica, Alation).
  • Data Modelling and Database Management: Knowledge of data modelling and database management systems.
  • Metadata Management: Experience with metadata management and data cataloging.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills to interpret data and provide actionable insights.
