Automation Engineer

Amazon TA is seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to join our team in a highly automated and fast-paced Sort Center environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for fault finding, troubleshooting, and improving controls solutions for automated material handling equipment.
About the Role
The Automation Engineer (Controls Expert) will be the site-level Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all controls systems and sensors within the building. Key responsibilities include monitoring, fault finding, and repairing systems to provide high equipment availability to internal customers. Additionally, the role involves training technicians in control systems fault finding, participating in continuous improvement projects, and collaborating with IT, EU Automation Engineering, and Operations Engineering to ensure accurate documentation and backup libraries.
Requirements
Essential qualifications include 3+ years' experience with PLC-controlled automation and issue diagnosis in a continuous process or production environment. A Bachelor's degree or equivalent is also required. Preferred qualifications include an electrical or mechanical training degree in computer science, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or related fields, understanding of ISO 13849 & 62061, familiarity with CE Machinery Directive, experience in a multi-site environment, project management experience, and knowledge of Six Sigma, analytical, and process improvement techniques.
