Technical SEO Consultant

Central Employment is partnering with a renowned Newcastle-based digital agency to find a skilled Technical SEO Consultant.

Salary: £24,000-£30,000 DOE

About the Role

The agency has a strong track record of building long-term client relationships through innovative digital marketing strategies. As a Technical SEO Consultant, you will play a key role in delivering integrated digital marketing campaigns and collaborating with the web and software development teams on new build projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in strategic discussions to identify SEO solutions for clients' business challenges and drive marketing performance.
  • Conduct technical site audits, creating clear roadmaps and evidence-based strategies to deliver results for clients.
  • Contribute to the new business process by creating high-impact audits on prospective clients' digital position to drive action.
  • Take ownership of clients' digital performance and technical integrity.
  • Define key metrics that drive SEO performance and create qualitative and quantitative reporting to show progress.
  • Develop and implement link acquisition plans, including identifying target sites, content opportunities, and content ideas.
  • Carry out competitor analysis, backlink audits, keyword research, and other research projects as required.
  • Provide detailed site architecture and URL structure recommendations to in-house development teams, including international and multi-language projects.
  • Troubleshoot and debug roadblocks in search engines or users accessing content.
  • Resolve complex indexation and crawlability issues.
  • Stay up-to-date with developments in technical SEO best practices and share knowledge across the team.
  • Develop new ways to improve, track, and monitor search performance.
  • Identify content optimization opportunities across various digital channels.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Proficiency in using the Microsoft Office package.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a dedicated Technical SEO role.
  • A good understanding of SEO principles and Google best practices.
  • Great knowledge of Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools.
  • A working knowledge of how HTML, CSS, and JavaScript work together.
  • A basic understanding of client-server behavior and the HTTP protocol.
  • Good knowledge of website crawling tools, Screaming Frog, and Deep Crawl.
  • First-hand experience of using popular CMS, such as WordPress.
