GE Vernova is seeking a Project Engineering Leader to join our Northern European Grid Solutions Business. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading engineering activities on our exciting new projects.

As a Project Engineering Leader, you will instruct, supervise, and coordinate engineering activities to ensure timely delivery, quality, and cost criteria are met. You will be the technical lead for electrical design and engineering of large energy projects, including preparing specifications, leading on deviations and clarifications, and attending FATs and SATs.

You will also coordinate design activities, manage the project design budget, oversee the design change process, and supervise and coordinate engineering activities required to execute the project.

Key Responsibilities
  • Issue consolidation of provisional drawing lists and integrate submission dates.
  • Manage global time schedules of concerned engineering activities and check coherency of links between engineering activities and other project functions activities.
  • Plan and manage delivery time of technical interfaces with your work package and put in place exchange interface sheets with partners, customers, and third-party contractors.
  • Ensure on-time delivery of design to stakeholders with suitable quality, including Partner documents.
  • Support Project Engineering Director and Project I&I manager in the engineering change management for large and complex projects.
  • Follow the engineering budget and identify potential savings and highlight to the Project Manager all instances requiring additional budget.
  • Participate and contribute to the project multidisciplinary design reviews according to the EMH procedures and per the project strategy.
  • Manage scope or design changes and prepare related claims and VO to be approved by Project Engineering Director or Project Manager.
  • Analyse customer technical requirements, prepare and consolidate clause-by-clause analysis, and ensure compliance to Customer requirements through Technical Queries.
  • Represent customer interests in the design decisions at Project Manager's request.
  • Ensure that Management of return status of project documentation internal or external (approved, comments, resubmit, rejected) is performed for your work package.
  • Check effectiveness of design against delivery of contract requirements within project budget and look for global cost optimisation in all design phase and mainly during basic design.
Requirements
  • Engineering degree level or equivalent education/experience.
  • Experience of Engineering activities as lead engineer in EPC type environment.
  • Successful experience in project technical management in a multi-disciplinary team's context including multiple interfaces and with products coming from several countries.
  • Ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of GIS systems is beneficial.
