Job Title: Senior Resource Planning Analyst

Join the Financial Ombudsman Service as a Senior Resource Planning Analyst and play a key role in developing a resource plan, including model building and 'what if' scenarios. As a member of the Resource Planning team, you will work closely with the Demand and Flexible deployment Teams to provide comprehensive, robust capacity plans that provide accurate resource forecasts for our medium- and long-term needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain capacity models within MS Excel and Anaplan.
  • Model 'what if' scenarios using internal/external data to show how our FTE needs could change over time.
  • Record and track actual KPI data vs plan, providing commentary on variances with recommendations/changes.
  • Ensure planning assumptions are within budget and agreed tolerances.
  • Produce reports to operational managers ensuring transparency on present and future resource requirements and areas of opportunity or risk.
  • Build a strong rapport with management and advise on how workforce supply matters - provide resolutions where possible or escalate where necessary.
  • Work with HR and Talent Acquisition to plan and implement recruitment and redeployment needs.
  • Continuously develop and improve current workforce planning methodologies and governance.
Requirements:
  • Significant experience of working within a workforce planning environment.
  • High attention to detail with strong data manipulation skills and being comfortable working with large amounts of data - you'll need to have an advanced level of Microsoft Excel and Anaplan with a good grasp of PowerPoint.
  • Strong collaboration and influencing skills and an ability to work closely with a range of senior colleagues, building and retaining their trust and confidence.
  • Ability to interpret complex data and trends, communicating them effectively to senior stakeholders.
  • Building capacity plans for back office and contact centre operational teams.
  • Experience using workforce management tools and telephony/digital platforms.
  • A basic understanding of complaints case-handling processes.
