Job Title: CBT Practitioner

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced CBT Practitioner to join our team in the NHS Dumfries and Galloway Specialist Drug and Alcohol Service (SDAS).

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to clients presenting with moderate to complex psychological needs. They will work closely with other senior members of clinical staff to enhance the quality and effectiveness of individual CBT informed interventions offered.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Support the delivery of evidence-based CBT interventions to clients in treatment at SDAS.
  • Hold a caseload of individuals presenting with moderate to severe mental health difficulties and moderate to high levels of complexity.
  • Work closely with other senior members of clinical staff to enhance the quality and effectiveness of individual CBT informed interventions offered.
  • Support the development of staff through supervision, training, and consultation, and support the application of CBT principles to clinical work.
  • Develop close links with other Psychological Therapists within the Psychology Service.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in CBT and experience working with clients with complex mental health needs. They will be able to work independently and as part of a team, and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Working Arrangements:

The post-holder will be based at the Specialist Drug and Alcohol Service at Lochfield Road Primary Care Centre, Dumfries. However, they may also be required to work from other bases across Dumfries and Galloway, so a means of independent travel is required.
