Job Description

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Site Manager to join our team at Fortem Solutions. As a key member of our site management team, you will be responsible for leading site teams and subcontractors in undertaking various tasks and ensuring the successful delivery of refurbishment programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review certification to ensure works comply with relevant standards
  • Ensure inspections are properly recorded on prescribed forms of certification and reporting
  • Issue clear and unambiguous works instructions to trades and subcontractors, maximizing productivity
  • Lead a team of supply chain partners to solve problems associated with carrying out their works
  • Enforce health and safety procedures and policies
  • Carry out ad hoc safety inspections on supply chain partners
  • Conduct works inspections on directly employed tradespeople
  • Ensure PAT testing of office equipment and plant is current
  • Organize work activity and prioritize tasks for the team
  • Accident recording and management
  • Manage welfare facilities on site
  • Work with clients, supply chain partners, and tenants to achieve excellent customer satisfaction
  • Manage program responsibilities

Essential Criteria

  • Experience in managing construction projects at Assistant Site Manager level
  • Problem-solving skills and analytical capability
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • IT skills, including the Microsoft Office package
  • CSCS Card
  • Full UK driving license and flexibility to undertake regular travel

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience in social housing repairs and maintenance
  • Understanding of job costing
  • SMSTS
  • Knowledge or understanding of EWI/external cladding replacement and fire compliance works in a residential tower block setting
  • Scaffold Inspection
  • PASMA Trained
