Position Overview
Objective
As a vital member of the legal team within Pilgrim's Shared Services Group, you will collaborate closely with colleagues across various group entities, delivering timely and commercially astute legal counsel on a diverse array of commercial contracts, significant projects, transactions, procurement matters, trademarks, GDPR compliance, civil litigation, and regulatory issues, including food labeling, alongside general legal and compliance responsibilities.
Primary Duties
- Reviewing, drafting, and negotiating a broad spectrum of commercial contracts, including non-disclosure agreements, modifications to standard purchasing terms, and customized agreements.
- Providing guidance on and managing a variety of legal challenges, encompassing civil litigation and regulatory concerns.
- Assessing and balancing multiple inputs and impacts of decisions or actions, while identifying proactive strategies to mitigate risks.
- Contributing to the ongoing enhancement of the compliance program and addressing ad hoc compliance inquiries (e.g., competition law, anti-bribery and corruption, conflict of interest).
- Executing additional tasks and projects as assigned periodically.
Qualifications & Expertise
- Qualified Solicitor or Barrister in the UK.
- Newly qualified with approximately 2 years of post-qualification experience (indicative only).
- High-quality experience gained at a leading law firm or within a dynamic in-house legal setting.
- Proficient in drafting and negotiating commercial and procurement contracts, with exposure to intellectual property, antitrust, anti-bribery, and other regulatory matters, including food labeling.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to foster relationships and engage with clients at all organizational levels.
- Confidence to operate with minimal supervision.
- Capability to devise innovative solutions to legal challenges.
- Willingness to broaden legal knowledge and experience.
- Flexibility to travel as necessary to meet job demands across the UK and ROI.
- Possession of a full driving license.
