Senior Buyer

The role of Senior Buyer - Key Accounts sits within the Mitie Energy procurement team and reports directly into the Head of Procurement. As a key contact within Mitie Energy, the Senior Buyer will be responsible for flexible and fixed price-fixed term has and electricity procurement activities, as well as sourcing water and metering contracts.
Key Responsibilities- Liaise with suppliers and internal teams to negotiate all aspects of product and pricing.
- Develop a strong working relationship with key account customers and act as a role of energy expertise through being an extension of their procurement and/or energy functions.
- Produce numerical and written analysis of tender bid responses and ensure relevant systems and databases are kept up to date with high-quality information.
- Keep abreast of industry regulatory changes and have expert knowledge of cost elements that make up a supply contract.
- Expert knowledge of energy contracts and cost elements that make up a supply contract.
- Excellent commercial awareness and ability to recognise contractual risk.
- Experience of being responsible for energy procurement, particularly around flexible energy contracts for gas and electricity.
- Ability to construct written reports to evaluate bids and create logical, balanced, and clear recommendations.
