Our client is seeking a Shift Engineer to enhance their Engineering Team.

The organization specializes in producing a diverse array of high-quality sweet and savory bakery items, including gourmet butter and vegan brioche buns, doughballs, and teacakes. They have the capacity to produce over 1 million baps and burger buns daily.

The Senior Shift Engineer will be an integral part of the Engineering Team, responsible for executing planned maintenance and repairs on production machinery, equipment, and facilities to ensure operational safety and reliability. The ideal candidate will possess a meticulous approach to maintenance tasks, along with strong literacy and numeracy skills. Previous experience in a similar engineering role is essential, particularly in troubleshooting and implementing corrective measures. Successful candidates will also have a solid understanding of plant maintenance systems and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team, where excellent communication skills are crucial.

This position offers a valuable opportunity to gain experience in leading Continuous Improvement projects within the bakery sector, while developing expertise in the engineering aspects of bakery process systems and machinery. Key Responsibilities:

As a Shift Engineer, you will actively participate in a skilled cross-functional maintenance team, ensuring compliance with Health & Safety, Food Safety, and Hygiene standards at all times. You will respond swiftly and effectively to breakdown situations and assist mechanical engineers with their responsibilities, including training fellow maintenance engineers and production staff as needed. You will contribute to a culture of Continuous Improvement throughout the site, consistently identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency and minimize waste. A positive attitude is essential to uphold good working practices and ensure that planned maintenance tasks are completed on schedule with meticulous attention to detail. You will also engage in various projects, including the installation and modification of equipment, while continuously seeking ways to improve equipment reliability.
